Tourism

  • Zócalo – Main plaza in Mexico City. Surrounded by Palacio Nacional (government building dating back to Moctezuma), la Catedral (gorgeous cathedral built on top of an Aztec temple and site of a couple engagement photos), and Zócalo Central hotel (discount code above). Exhibitions, book fairs, Aztec dancers, street vendors, etc.

  • Coyoacan & La Casa Azul – Cool neighborhood with tacos and souvenirs; the house where Frida Kahlo grew up.

  • Calle Donceles – Fantastic street lined with used bookstores near the Zócalo; old/rare books, books in many languages, etc.

  • Bosque de Chapultepec – Nahuatl for “grasshopper”, the largest city park in Latin America. Sections include an amusement park and the Rufino Tamayo Museum of modern art.

  • Museo Nacional de Antropologia – Most visited museum in Mexico, in Chapultepec.
